Weaning of infants

 
 
 
Weaning is the process of gradually introducing an infant human to what will be its adult diet while withdrawing the supply of its mother’s milk.
 
Weaning starting time: 6 months of age.
 
 
Liquid base: daily 2 times a day.
Age: 6 months.
1.Dal and rice water.
2.Soup – Tomato, carrot, beetroots, mutton.
3.Juice – Apple, orange, pineapple, pomegranate.
 
Semi-liquid: Daily 3-4times.
Age: 8 months.
1.Soft khichdi Ghee.
2.Boiled Potato.
3.Mashed Banana.
4.Curd.
5.Sweet Wheat Flour Porridge.
6.Sheera.
 
Semi-solid: As needed by the infant.
Age: 9 months.
1.Khichdi
2.Dal rice.
3.Roti and sabzi.
4.Fruits.
 
Tips:
1. Start weaning with a small quantity.
2.If infants find any type of allergy stops that food.
3. Doctors never recommend commercial available feeds.
