SUMMER TIPS TO STAY COOL
Now it’s Summer everyone is feeling hot, here are a few tips to stay cool.

1.Keep yourself hydrated: Hydration is very important in summer in order to prevent heat stroke. Citrus fruits can be used as a part of hydration, citrus fruits contain lots of electrolytes, vitamins and many more. Minimum 4-5 liters of water is needed daily.

2.Clothes: Always prefer cotton and loose clothing in summer. Light colour clothes are preferred over dark colour clothes as light colour clothes reflect light and heat.

3.Home: Keep some plants inside the home especially which are indoor ones. If you don’t want to spend money you can use old bottles and keep some money plants with water. It makes the room cool. Use curtains for windows and doors where direct sunlight is present. This will help to keep home clean.

4.Air Conditioner: If you are using the air conditioner inside the room, please close the doors and windows so that the energy is not wasted. Using AC with 24degree celsius temperature is advised by the company as it needs less power to keep the room at 24degree celsius. Use ceiling fan along with air conditioner.

5.Going outside: Complete your outside work in early morning and in evening when temperature is low. Those who go for daily office try to start early and reach early and avoid traffic jams and hot sun.Keep water bottles along with you especially bottles which retain the temperature of water. Avoid drinking roadside cold drinks, better to opt for tender coconuts or sugarcane juices.

6.Regarding vehicles: Park your vehicle in shade, it will protect the vehicle colour and keep the car cool. If public transport like the metro is available then better to use that and avoid using personal vehicles.

7.Food: Avoid a high calorie diet which leads to liberation of high energy which leads to high generation of heat. Use food like fresh fruits, buttermilk, curd and other cold types of food.

8.Eyes:Protection of eyes by direct sunlight is important. Ultraviolet rays damage the lens and lead to cataract. So it is advisable to wear good quality sunglasses when you step outside in the sun.

9.Face: Protect your skin with Sunscreen lotion. It protects the skin from damage by the direct sunlight. Use an umbrella if walking in the hot sun. It will protect eyes and face from direct sunlight.
